Well it’s about that time we all have been waiting for 2017 NBA Finals. The Cleveland Cavaliers against the stacked and talented Golden State Warriors. I think we all can say once the Kevin Durant signing from last year that GS would be the favor of winning the championship this year.

Both teams have played excellent ball this post season and a total of one lost in the playoffs. The Cavs representing the east led by the best player in basketball Lebron James with this duo sidekick of Kyrie Irving and power forward Kevin Love. This team had some question marks halfway thru the season on wether or not were they even motivated to repeat this season. As Tyronne Lue silences his critics by not only snatching the 2 seed but eliminating the 1 seed Boston Celtics in 5 games. I guess home court really doesn’t matter to this team, they were also questioned by fans and spectators was resting their big 3 good for basketball.

As a basketball player it’s very hard (IMO) to sit out any game when your not hurt because the love of playing always keeps you going but, at the same time you gotta look at it from a team or player such as Lebron James who has been to 7 straight finals. Overall that is a lot of basketball over a 7 year span. You have to take into consideration that it can cause injuries, fatigue and also just a mental breakdown where you just wanna do everything else but think about ball. So congrats to the Cavs coach and players who saw the long road instead of the average fans prospective.

Cleveland also had some question marks around the All Star break wether they needed to add another scorer/playmaker. Lots of talk has come around New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony and Cleveland shot that out the air with signing from backup PG Deron Williams who was with the Dallas Mavericks for most of the season. D-Will brings, experience, scoring, another playmaker behind Kyrie and just something you can depend on coming off the bench.

Also the signing of Kyle Korver who was with the Atlanta Hawks as they looked to move on from the excellent shooter around the All Star break. Both pieces they need to add depth for their team. They provide playmaking, shooting and floor spacing when it comes to playing the Golden State Warriors. The Cavs also signed Larry Sanders former Milwaukee Buck center for a 10 day contract but they didn’t work out in the end for the veteran center.

Now for the Golden State Warriors, lots of people were on and off about the Durant signing to the Warriors. I’m going to be honest it was a very surprising move to me. I personally felt Durant and the Thunder had a better overall team even better than the Cavs last season. Losing a 3-1 lead to the Warriors broke up a team that had potential not for just last season but many more if they could consistently provide Westbrook and Durant with a supporting cast.

As Durant put much pressure on himself not just to win in Golden State but to be one of the real leaders on this team this season. Durant has lived up to the pressure by being in the MVP race for most of the season until he fell to a knee injury that kept him out several months. Durant bounced back and looks as good as ever. Warriors not losing one game this playoffs come in as the favor for winning the finals. Adding pieces like ZaZa Pachulia, Javale McGee who we all know from Shaquille O’Neal’s “shaqtin a fool” has turned things around in Warrior Nation this season. He has been great coming off the bench for most of the season, with his shot blocking, rebounding and even the way he finishes around the basket. He’s been running the floor extremely well and his teammates are finding him. He looks focused and may have found a home here in Warrior Nation with his play and the absence of ZaZa. Warriors also lose Harrison Barnes who was a big key for them in their playoff and championship runs. This year the Warriors look younger and maybe a little faster out there.

Steph Curry looks like his old self shooting the ball and creating for his teammates. With a team of 4 All Stars this is in the making for being a great NBA finals once again. With Golden State having home court we will see if that even matters to the Cleveland Cavs again this season. Hopefully this time around there are no injuries and no suspensions so we can get the best of both teams. I think the Cavs bench has an upper hand going into the finals with most of their bench returning from last year and an added Williams, Korvey can bring that extra playoff experience to the table. Yes the Warriors have younger players coming off the bench but they have developed hose guys well plus playing against KD, Klay and Steph everyday in practice is basically forced to make you better.

The Warriors bench had played well this playoffs and looks focused to not only win the finals but pay back what they should’ve won last seasons finals. I wanna give my prediction but I keep going back and fourth on who will take it. But if you have the best player in the world on your team. You will always have a shot. I’m thinking Warriors in 6. Agree or not, would love to hear everyone’s “unbiased” opinions on who they think will win the finals and why.
