"I have never criticized coach through social networks, I’m not that kind of guy."

Last wednesday, after several hours of negotiation at the club’s offices, Real Betis Energía Plus and Samardo Samuels agreed to rescind the contract of the Jamaican pivot after only being a month in the discipline green-white. He was the third player cut in preseason, after Taylor Brown and Jordan Swing.

We do not want to speculate on the numerous reports against Samardo that have appeared in the newspapers in the recent days, so we have decided to take the phone and ask him about the causes of cutting his contract.

If you want to read the interview translated into Spanish, please click the following link.

Q: You came to Seville very excited, as you told us in an interview (A COFFEE WITH… SAMARDO SAMUELS). Tell us how you were treated for club and players on your arrival in Sevilla.

A: It’s life. We know sometime this don’t go the way you plan it. It was a great place to get better this and get back in the ACB.

Q: From what we have talked about other times, it seems that players and coach made you the void, why do you think that situation happened? Did you have any confrontation with a player or someone from the club that triggered the whole situation?

A: It’s a basketball team and I would hate to, but the team business out and special since the season haven’t started yet.

Q: The last few days you were away from the club, both training and friendly matches. What explication was given for that absence?

A: They told me after the last game that I played not to come to the practice and stay at home until they find a solution.

Q: From various media you have been accused of harshly criticizing through your Instagram account the coach. I even put the link of a medium in which appears a supposed confrontation in public with the coach. Is this all true?

A: Never, I’m not that kind of guy. I post history of my career in basketball and music, my Instagram shouldn’t be a problem. Everyone have a Instagram, it’s they time we are living. Everything is recording if I’m get a unfair treatment I have to defend myself. My post is to let people remember my history and what kind of person and player I am. Maybe they don’t get my personality, I’m Jamaican, happiest people in the world. I’m bless to be here.

Q: Last wednesday you finally agreed to terminate your contract. What has been the agreement that you have reached?

A: It’s no need to fight with the team. If they don’t want me, hopefully someone will be interested. I’m a hard worker.

Q: Honestly, what do you think was the cause of your firing?

A: I don’t know, I’m a successful basketball it was a good 8 year run. I never had a problem until now with a club. I’m proud of myself. I came and work really hard. It was enough, I’m cool, I gave my best.

Q: Samardo, I leave the blog at your disposal in case you want to add something more of the situation that you have lived.

A: I’m grateful in my life. A lot guys I know gave up at basketball already, I still want to win more.

P: “Big Sam”, thank you very much for your attention and your good deal with us. We wish you good luck in your professional future.
